⚘ some more cute + sturdy glasses holders! based on my miffy bunny glasses holder, but with a bear and chick!
Materials I Used
- Acrylic yarn, medium weight (4)
- working in double strands for base
- working in single strands for details
- Colors for Bear
- Light brown
- White
- Dark brown or Black
- Colors for Chick:
- Yellow
- Orange
- Green
- Dark brown or Black
- 4.0mm AND 3.0mm crochet hook
- Tapestry needle for sewing
- optional: Stitch markers/bobby pins
Abbreviations
ch - chain
slst - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
sc inc - increase (2 sc in one stitch)
hdc - half double crochet
hdc inc - increase (2 hdc in one stitch)
BEAR PATTERN ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ₊˚⊹♡
BASE+SIDE RIM (working in an oval shape)
**make sure to double strand the brown yarn! use 4.0mm hook
R1-7: Follow the base + side rim of the sturdy Miffy glasses holder up until you finish R7
Use a stitch marker to mark where you want your ears to be placed.
R8: sc until the 3rd stitch before the marker, [slst in the 2nd stitch before the marker, skip 1, 5dc where the marker is, skip 1, slst]**, sc until the 3rd stitch before the next marker, repeat ** for the next ear. sc across the rest of the side rim. (See photo)
DETAILS
Mouth
**working in single strand, 3.0mm hook with white yarn
R1: 8 hdc in magic ring, slst in first stitch (8)
R2: ch1, 8 hdc inc, slst (16)
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.
With dark brown or black yarn, sew a T-shape for the mouth, with a thicker horizontal line (See photo)
ASSEMBLY
*Use your own glasses to mark where you want your eyes and mouth to be. Sew back and forth (x3) between the rows of the base to make eyes, and a sew in the mouth. (See photo) for which rows I placed mine for reference:
Weave in/hide/tie your ends...and that's it!
DUCK PATTERN 𐦖₊˚⊹♡

**working in single strand, 3.0mm hook, with orange yarn
R1: slip knot, ch 7
R2: skip 1, sc in next 5 stitch, 3sc in last stitch
Now working on bottom loops
R3: sc in next 5 stitchs, 2dc in last, slst into first sc
Fasten off, leave tail for sewing
Sprout
**working in single strand, 3.0mm hook, with green yarn

R1: ch7
R2: skip 1, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next 2 st, slst in next ch
*you should have 2 chains left over, disregard that for now
R3: ch5
R4: skip 1, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next 2 st, slst
R5: slst in the 2 chains that were left over
ASSEMBLY
* Sew the sprout along the side rim of the holder.
