crochet pattern | puffy button coasters

⚘ because i know we all dream about putting our cups on a button >.< here's a whimsical, puffy coaster that's just as practical as it is cute! and dare i say...beginner friendly??

Design Notes: This pattern was independently developed through personal experimentation, inspired by the trendy whimsical, "puffy"/"donut-style" coasters and dimensional forms seen across various creative mediums. Similar design approaches are explored by multiple creators across the crochet community.

NOTE: I alternate where my increase stitches are as I work along the circle to give a smoother curve appearance. For example instead of
(1sc, inc) → (2sc, inc) (3sc, inc) (4sc, inc)
for consecutive rows, I do
(1sc, inc) → (1sc, inc, 1sc) (3sc, inc) (2sc, inc, 2sc)
Notice how I utilize the even stitch numbers to split up the increases.
